In September 1997, the Oasis Television Network launched on satellite to become the world's first Body Mind Spirit programming service in the world. It was founded by Robert Schnitzer after he realized the mainstream media underserved the growing market of “cultural creatives,” those for whom non-religious spirituality, world peace and social justice are primary life values.
From 1999 through 2001, Oasis TV expanded to free over-the-air television, with a 3-hour

block, 7 days a week throughout the Southeastern United States on WAMI-TV. With the launch of streaming video on the web, Oasis TV partnered with Real Networks from 2001-2003 as part of RealOne, a worldwide subscription video-on-demand service. From 2002 through 2005, Oasis TV also was the “holistic” video provider of Mind-Body content for Microsoft’s MSN.com portal.

In 2004, under then-president Victoria Overton, Oasis TV launched its free on demand service on Time Warner Cable throughout Los Angeles, California. In 2007, Oasis TV was acquired by OTV Media Group, Inc., with
Azim Khamisa as chairman at the time and Robert Schnitzer remaining as

CEO. Since 2008, Schnitzer has assumed the position of board chairman and president, as well as CEO.
In 2009, Oasis TV launched

Oasisville.com as the springboard to its online communities on Facebook, MySpace, Tribe, YouTube and Twitter.
Today, Oasis TV has grown to a combined cable/satellite television audience of 9.2 million households. It is seen nationwide on DISH On Demand, and on Charter and Cox cable systems in 11 of the top 20 TV markets in the United States. By the end of 2010, the Company expects to be in 20 million homes in the U.S. and 5 million homes overseas.
Oasis TV is planning many other initiatives for the remainder of 2010, including a relaunch of ShopOasisTV.com in conjunction with leading retailers of holistic products and

services, and the launch of its new Home Shopping channel.
Also in 2010, Oasis TV will debut its new linear channel online, and both linear and on demand services will be available on various smartphones, including the iPhone, Blackberry and Android devices, as well as the iPad.
